In 2016, Boris Johnson and his band of economic charlatans funded a decal on a bus. The decal, as many would recall, stated that we sent £350m a week to the EU, and that by leaving the EU we could spend that sum on the NHS.
This morning, Steve Barclay, health secretary at the time of writing, stated that there is simply no budget for the previously promised 40 new hospitals by 2030. Furthermore, the revitalisation of existing hospitals (which was to be part of the elusive 40) would not be completed either.
Since the £350m figure was first uttered, Brexit sceptics across commons have called into question its validity. In 2018, Johnson was officially rebuked by the UK Statistics Authority for misuse of the figures, proving that it was, in fact, a lie.
Since then, instead of apology, the British public has received nothing but more lies from the Conservative benches, with the more Brexit-sceptic members purged or whipped into submission over successive governments.
We now find ourselves in a country where the health secretary does not apologise for missing a target, but actively insults those who believed the promise when it was pledged by multiple prime ministers.
The narrative has also shifted, the "battle bus" above being referred to as a myth, images as hoaxes, and all evidence as lies. The promise of 40 new hospitals never happened, more lies from "woke media". Those pumping out this message, GBNews et al, would like to remind you that Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia.
